The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) and its schools serve the community of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and make up a large, valuable and vital part of the mission of the church. The geographical area extends from Lake Macquarie to Taree and as far inland as Merriwa and Murrurundi covering territory of approximately 150,000 Catholics in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle represents the Catholic Church in this region and provides pastoral, social welfare and educational services for the community in the areas we serve.
Across the Diocese, there are 38 parishes. These parishes are the centres of the life of the Catholic Church in our communities. There are many activities, which form the mission of the church in our region.
