San Clemente Catholic College marked International Women’s Day by inviting three former female students to return to the school and lead an inspiring forum for current students.
Pinn Tongue, Kate Slowey and Annabelle Jones sat down with the female students to discuss their triumphs and challenges since they finished at San Clemente. All the women have excelled in their respective fields since finishing school and are now advocating for other young women to “see what they can be”.

“Today’s International Women’s Day forum was truly inspiring, and it was an honor to help organise such an impactful event. Feedback from our students has been overwhelming – they reflected on the strength, honesty and determination of our three amazing guests who advocated for equality and to break down stereotypes. All three speakers, Pinn, Kate and Annabelle, spoke openly about their journeys and helped to provide a refreshing and relevant perspective for the young women of our school community.
.
“I am thankful to all our students who participated and contributed. Their openness and sincere connection with our speakers was a delight to see. They were open, intelligent and reflective in their questions for the panel and listened, reflecting afterwards about wanting more for themselves and each other. Our students firmly believe we can continue to make meaningful change by looking out for and supporting one another.”

“The talk was very inspirational because all the women were independent in their own work force one was a mother of five business owner and wife another was a painter, and another was working in the trade union, they all believe in equality. They made everyone believe if you take everything life throws at you can do the impossible.”
