Term 3 was a time to shine at St Patrick’s Primary School, Wallsend.
Staff and students let their creativity flow, choosing an area of passion or interest within the scope of the Creative and Performing Arts.
Once students chose which group they would like to be a part of, each Friday in Term 3 after lunch, students attended their Creative Arts Showcase groups ranging from Visual Arts groups such as line/wire art, Lego design and build, printmaking, and architecture using Tinkercad, to Performing Arts groups like singing, dance and drama.
On Wednesday 25 September, parents and friends were invited to view the Creative Arts Learning Showcase.
St Patrick’s school choir opened the evening with a performance before the school community visited classrooms which were transformed into galleries displaying students’ beautiful artwork and products.
Thanks to the staff, in particular the organisational skills of Miss Sam Reed, for the hard work and dedication to produce an event of this calibre.
Staff in turn appreciated the students for their persistence in learning and developing new skills, their courage to perform in front of multiple audiences and their creativity in developing their art forms.
Thanks also to the wider school community for their support of the evening, whether it was volunteering, helping with the sausage sizzle or supporting their child throughout the term.
St Patrick’s hopes to continue to foster a love of the Creative and Performing Arts in their students, and look forward to continuing some of these groups as extra-curricular activities for the rest of the year.
